Turning suffering into good for others:

Hi, I’m Ella!

When I was seven, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura or, "ITP". Most kids who get this grow out of it within a few months, but for me it’s never gone away. That makes me a pretty rare case :).

ITP is not contagious; it means my body destroys the platelets in my blood.

Without any treatment, I have an extremely low number of platelets in my body, and I am at risk for bleeding or injury.

For 7 years, every 6-8 weeks I had to spend the day at an outpatient clinic getting IV infusions. Although I no longer have IVs and I’m doing very well, I do still have ITP and have to take medicine for it every day.

Despite all this, I still have things I love to do and are safe for me. I am a coxswain for a rowing team and I cantor (sing) at my church.

I never forgot how scary those early days of infusions were for me and I wanted to help other kids who felt like I did. I hope you’ll join in our mission to improve the infusion experience for kids and normalize medical care. Please take a look at how you, your group, or company can help! We can’t do this without you!

Thank you!
